Non-Profit / Faith Based
This is why God made me a film maker. Don’t get me wrong I love selling shoes, chocolate, cloths and cars. But when I get a chance to use my talent helping people and spreading Gods word, I’m in! For the past 3 years i’ve been blessed to work with Grooters Productions to travel all over the world making films for Voice of the Martyrs.
General Reel
This reel is a collection of projects I’ve enjoyed working on over the years. Some made the cut because of the creative ideas behind them, while others remind me of the challenges we overcame as a crew and a few are here simply because they still make me smile every time I watch them. One thing you’ll notice is that I enjoy filming people. Whether it’s kids, families, athletes, business owners, or someone who has never been on the camera before, I like helping people relax and simply be themselves. I especially enjoy working with kids and young people. They bring an energy an honesty to a shoot that you can’t manufacture, and they never give you the same take twice and have to stay ready, because some of the best movements are the ones you never planned. Every project has its own story, and that’s one of the reasons I’ve enjoyed this work for so many years. Feature Films, Short films & Music Videos
I’ve had the opportunity to serve as director of photography on three feature films: Year by the Sea, The Frontier Boys, and Margarine Wars. I’ve also worked as a camera operator on the film Do You Believe?
Narrative filmmaking has always been one of my favorite challenges. It brings together the story, the performance, the lighting, the camera movement, and an entire crew working together toward the same goal. Year by the Sea and The Frontier Boys both received recognition at film festivals, which was especially rewarding after all the work that went into making them.

Product / Effects
Products and special effects, love em. I originally only did products in collage because it was so hard to get good actors to do student work for free.

People / Kids work
I believe my work with people and kids is so strong is because when I’m working with them, im working with THEM. And when it comes to working with kids… my secret is to play and not make it work. I’ve been told by mothers, that there kids trust me more than them, and you only have known them for a few moments. I think it’s also because I’m still a child at heart.

Still Photography
I started out in still photography in high school at Interlochen and collage at Art Center Pasadena. After one semester in the photography department i transferred to Film. As you can see I still love photography.
I was driving in the Kalamazoo/ Grand Rapids area in Michigan, and to my surprise I saw signs with images from the films/videos (all shot in 35mm) I shot and directed. So i called the production company and got a list of where all the signs were and took stills of them. As a DP I usably don’t see my stuff that big!
I also did a few days doing stills only for print.
This campaign won a ton of Addsy and Tellys for 3 years straight.

SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media is like doing TV spots but there are no rules. Just get to the point in 3 seconds. And it seema to be about quantity not quality. One client even said “Don’t make them too nice because people don’t want to be sold things , they just want to be shown things”
